Breastfeeding
Welcome to our 6th Newsletter in September.
Childhood obesity is an epidemic. In the US, 1 preschooler in 5 is at least overweight, and half of these are obese. Breastfeeding helps protect against childhood obesity. A baby’s risk of becoming an overweight child goes down with each month of breastfeeding. In the US, most babies start breastfeeding, but within the first week, half have already been given formula, and by 9 months, only 31% of babies are breastfeeding at all. Chronic Pain
Welcome to our 4th Newsletter in September. We continue our journey into health with:
Chronic Pain
Chronic pain refers to pain that does not improve with time. This pain can affect a specific part of the body, as in low-back pain or headaches, or involve many regions at the same time, as in fibromyalgia or osteoarthritis. Chronic pain is more than a symptom of a disease, illness or injury; it becomes an illness unto itself. Regardless of location or cause, chronic pain causes many people to have difficulty functioning in daily activities. They may experience occupational disability, depression, drug-related complications and diminished quality of life.

Welcome to our 2nd Newsletter in September.
We followed last Sunday’s Newsletter Maternal Health Care with Men’s Health Care.
In our last Newsletter we explored the connection between health and fitness with Health and Fitness (The Connection).
How does nutrition connect to health and fitness?
There’s a lot of talk about the different components of food. Whether you’re consuming carbohydrates, fats, or proteins all of them contain calories. If your diet focus is on any one of these alone, you’re missing the bigger picture.
When it comes to maintaining a healthy weight for a lifetime, the bottom line is: Calories Count
